How to Access Data About Federally Funded Nutrition Programs in Your Community:

As local leaders, you have the ability to engage local stakeholders and build a culture of health among constituents of all ages in your community. Access to nutrition program data, specific to your community, can help give insight into what programs exist and where local partnerships can be strengthened. Nutrition program data from the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) is now available on demand at Data.Texas.gov.

Access Open Data for Federal Meals Programs

What data can you access on the Open Data Portal?

The Texas Open Data Portal now hosts the most requested information for School Nutrition Programs, the Child and Adult Food Care Program and Summer Meal Programs. During active program years, TDA updates its data regularly.

TDA datasets on the Texas Open Data Portal can be exported as Excel-compatible files and include:

    • Contact information and addresses for sponsors and sites
    • Program participation numbers
    • Claims for meal reimbursement
    • Number of meals served
    • Eligibility percentages

With publication of this data to the Texas Open Data Portal, TDA joins other state agencies in supporting Texas’ goal of increasing transparency, empowering and informing the public, and making more efficient use of resources.

Individuals who are deaf, hard of hearing or have speech disabilities may contact USDA through the Federal Relay Service at (800) 877-8339. Additionally, program information may be made available in languages other than English.

To file a program complaint of discrimination, complete the USDA Program Discrimination Complaint Form, (AD-3027) found online at: http://www.ascr.usda.gov/complaint_filing_cust.html, and at any USDA office, or write a letter addressed to USDA and provide in the letter all of the information requested in the form. To request a copy of the complaint form, call (866) 632-9992. Submit your completed form or letter to USDA by:
