The child nutrition reauthorization, "The Healthy, Hunger Free Kids Act of 2010," was signed into federal law on December 13, 2010. USDA published the proposed rule, "Nutrition Standards in the National School Lunch and School Breakfast Programs" in the Federal Register on January 13, 2011.
