SFSP/SSO Administration: TX-UNPS

Beginning in 2012, contracting entities (CEs) wishing to participate in the Summer Food Service Program (SFSP) or the Seamless Summer Option (SSO) must submit applications and file claims through the Texas Unified Nutrition Programs System: TX-UNPS. CEs requesting a paper version of the application or claim form must contact the Texas Department of Agriculture (TDA) at (877) TEX-MEAL.

Applications will be available in TX-UNPS beginning January 15, 2012.

Application Deadlines:


March 15, 2012– Application packet deadline if you would like to be eligible to request an advance. If you do not submit your application packet by this deadline you will not be eligible to request an advance at any time during this program year.

April 15, 2012 – Application packet deadline if you are not going to request an advance during this program year.


NOTE: Per 7 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 225.6 (b) (9), TDA is required to deny applications for CEs or principals of the CE that have been determined to be seriously deficient.
